About Us

The Social Work Student Association provides leadership, social and cultural educational engagement, community service opportunities and events for all students. We strive as an organization to educate others and discuss social problems through learning experiences and advocacy at the University of Connecticut, Hartford Campus. We are committed to advocating for inclusion, cultural awareness, and social change in our campus community and the city of Hartford. We promote a positive image of the social work profession and empower its members to identify the needs within our communities.

We urge students to be involved in the community through professional experiences and service. By collaborating  with other campus organizations,  we strive to meet our end goal of supporting and nurturing the personal and professional development of our club members, faculty, and community.
